GRAMMER Quizalofop ethyl 10% EC is a selective, post-emergence herbicide used to control grassy weeds in broadleaf crops. It is a systemic product, meaning it is absorbed by the leaves and roots and translocated throughout the plant to kill the weeds. It is safe for most broadleaf crops like soybeans, cotton, and groundnuts because it targets grassy weeds which are naturally resistant to its chemical class, the aryloxyphenoxy-propionates.
What it is Type: A selective, systemic, post-emergence herbicide.
Active Ingredient : Quizalofop ethyl 10%.
Mechanism : It works by inhibiting the enzyme Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase), which is crucial for the formation of cell membranes in grass weeds. This leads to the disintegration and death of the weed.
Rainfast : It is absorbed quickly (within an hour), making it effective even if rain occurs shortly after application.
How it works Absorption : It is absorbed through the leaves and roots of the weeds.
Translocation : It is rapidly moved throughout the entire weed plant, accumulating in the growing points and destroying reproductive ability.
Visible Effects : Weed leaves typically turn purplish/red within 5-8 days and are completely killed within 10-15 days after application.
Uses : Targets : Controls a wide range of grassy weeds, including annual and perennial grasses.
Crops : Used in broadleaf crops such as soybean, cotton, black gram, onion, groundnut, and other vegetables.
Timing : Applied after weeds have emerged (post-emergence).
